The Long and Winding Road

I started as a network TV journalist at NBC covering nation-defining stories including the O.J. Simpson Trial, the Oklahoma City Bombing, and the War in Kosovo.

Later I moved into the business realm and was involved in the NBC Universal merger and started seven businesses in and out of the corporate world.

In 2006, I moved to Silicon Valley after joining Google and led partnerships for YouTube to help define what it is today.

I’ve been a CEO three times including influencer marketing pioneer platform Federated Media, award-winning journalistic site Salon.com, and my own consultancy helping media companies manage the digital transition.

My move into venture capital started with some early stage investments and then I was fortunate enough to be the COO of the early stage corporate venture fund Samsung Next where I led a platform team that served over 250 cutting-edge portfolio companies.

Now I’m working with some brilliant, driven, and kind people at Offline Ventures and Offline Studio as we dig into the possibilities of the next great technology wave of AI, automation, and robotics.
